Day 2: Snorkeling in the Red Sea

Woke up real early in the hope of catching the sunrise in Hurghada.

Who knew that before the sun rose, we were chased out from the Ministry of Sound. There went our hope of catching the sunrise... We went exploring the neighbourhood instead. It was quite shocking looking at the slums and debris at the street parallel to the marina. Seemingly reminding us of the true face of tourism.

After the hearty breakfast (not quite liking the egg though), we signed up with the hotel's snorkeling package (about 100LP ?). This package took us to three different snorkeling sites.

Used to diving, snorkeling seemed like skimming the surface of the real adventure. Still, it was an experience looking at the marine ecosystem of the famous Red Sea. Out of the whole snorkeling package, only one of the sites deserved the plunge and braving the sea breeze.

Snorkeling may look simple, but it can be super tiring. This called for a nourishing Egyptian meal of kebabs. After dinner, we reserved seats for the bus to Cairo. Costing 85LP each, Go!Bus provided snacks as well, which was really thoughtful for a 6 hours bus journey.
