Day 5: Arriving in St. Petersburg

Woke up to a wintry St. Petersburg, which meant that there will be lots of slush. Why was I the only person who wore non-waterproof PT shoes. Then again, it didn't really matter.

Fetched by our driver, we were brought to Ambassador hotel, another 4 star hotel.

'Snorer's room'

This hotel up-ed its glam factor with lots of columns and chandeliers but sad enough, the mini bar wasn't free. Our room had a bathtub but while XY was trying it out, he told me that the water was brownish in colour...

Breakfast with a view

With less than an hour before meeting up with our tour guide, we settled for a quick breakfast. The view of the restaurant was amazing but the food wasn't. As G said, the chef must be a pastry chef since the pastries were awesome but the savoury food was so-so.

The first day in St. Petersburg was spent exploring the many islands and the different Cathedrals and bridges. Modelled after Amsterdam, the many canals reminded me of Venice as well.

Lunch was spent at tepemok, a fast food pancake outlet. Offering both sweet and savoury pancakes made from buckwheat, they even had fillings such as caviar. The best thing was that it wasn't too expensive. After lunch, we wandered about the street before heading back for the usual activities.

Then, it was dinner at Carl's Jr and subway! Lol at our choice of food in a foreign place.
