Day 1: Towards the end of the world

It's summer break and I was in UK, which meant a trip to the beach and cornwall is home to lots of beautiful beach.

Sleeper train

Of course the first step to cornwall is a long train ride from Paddington. Despite being a sleeper train, it was really difficult to sleep... Nonetheless, time passed while zoning in and out of dreamland and we arrived in Penzance. After collecting our car and checking into Penzance Backpackers, we were ready to explore the region. The first and in my opinion the most opinion, Land's end.

Land's end

Land's end is inland UK's western tip and it seemed quite apt as a place to visit since I will be leaving UK soon. Needless to say, the view was amazing. Why can't Singapore have such a view... However, it was superbly windy as well and we shuddered in our layer of clothes. There wasn't much at Land's end other than a trap for tourists to pay money to take photos with the sign post.

Porthcurno beach

Next stop: Minack theatre and Porthcurno beach. Minack theatre is a theatre by the sea and promises an amazing view. However, there were no shows on that day and we didn't see the need to pay for a tour.

St. Ives

After a lunch of fish & chips (UK's favourite food), we went to St. Ives. One word: Fantastic. I loved the way the land and the sea meets. It's really a beautiful town but could be lacking in activities.

Seafood dinner

Wandering around St. Ives, it's close to dinner time and we settled for a seafood meal. Thereafter, while failing to catch the sunset, it's back to our hostel.
